Baking, serving, or food storage has never looked so charming. Bake casseroles, Cornish game hens, reheat left overs or use a storage vessel while enjoying the whimsical Hen sculptured top.  Hand crafted from the famous white firing clay of Boleslawiec Poland and painted with the traditional technique called "Hand Stamped" which has passed through many generations.  This joyful kitchen accessory and baking dish was designed by Janina Bany-Kozłowska and painted by a beginning artisan at Zakłady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec factory.  Imported by Pottery Avenue to meet your need for beauty, durability, functionality and fun in the kitchen.

The Stars N Strips pattern was designed with the US military men and women who have been an important part of brining Polish Stoneware and Polish Pottery to the US.  Many of our military, stationed in Germany have visited the nearby village, Boleslawiec and been captivated by the traditional stoneware, warm hospitality, and historical significance of the 750 year old village.  The rich cobalt blue surrounds the stars and bright red strips accent the design perfectly.

ROOSTERS NEED HENS Based on the popular Tuscan tradition to have a rooster in the kitchen, we wanted those roosters to have a companion so inspired our happy hen. We also have a fundamental principal that the shape must be functional. Combine tradition, history, and modern needs you will understand the premise behind Polish Stoneware by Pottery Avenue. Our hen covered casserole was designed by world famous Janina Bany-Kozłowska, the main designer at Zaklady Ceramiczne since 1974 and author of 1600 shapes in global circulation. She has participated in many national and international art exhibitions and international trade fairs in Poznań, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan and New York. In 1986 she was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit, in 2014 she received the Honorary Award of the Mayor of Bolesławiec for the promotion of the city, and in December 2014 the Minister of Culture and National Heritage awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis to the artist.
