Janina Bany Kozlowska is the main designer of Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec shapes. She has authored about 1600 shapes that are in wide circulation around the world. She began working at ZC in 1974 and has an amazing story as she has always loved ceramics, sculpting, and function. Developing the perfect shape to help us in the kitchen is her passion. She graduated from Faculty of Ceramic and Glass Design and the Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw Poland. She graduated with honors in 1973 and was quick to catch the eye of her professors. She now participates in many national and international art exhibitions and international fairs in Poznan, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan and New York. In 1986 she was awarded the Silver Cross of merit, and in 2017 she received the Honorary Award of the mayor of Boleslawiec for the promotion of the city, and in December 2017 the Minister of culture and national heritage awarded the medal for merit to culture Gloria Artis, the highest tribute to her contribution to our society.Mrs Bany Kozlowska is one of the reasons we love Polish Stoneware and Polish Pottery from ZC Boleslawiec factory. She sculpts the most perfect fitting bowls, plates, mugs and more. I can imagine how she dreams of the shapes to fulfill the needs in our kitchen and then sets to work changing our lives in a very subtle way. In an interview she commented that part of her philosophy is that the design must be timeless and she looks for the optimal solutions while combining beauty in shape and how the patterns will grace the surface. She acknowledges her fascination by nature and allows her inner-self to channel this into inspiration. A fine way to live, from my point of view, no matter what we do.
